The problem with single-use structures

For years, much of the events industry has worked on a straight line: design, build, use for a few days, discard. Walk an exhibition hall during breakdown and you will see skips filling with board, carpet and bespoke timber framing that cannot be used again.

That model is getting harder to defend. Brands spend real money on structures that are gone within a week, and the waste sits awkwardly next to their own sustainability commitments.

Why expectations are changing

Visitors notice how brands show up, and many companies now ask their suppliers to account for waste as well as cost. Some venues and organisers are tightening their own rules on what exhibitors bring in and take away. The direction of travel is clear, even if the rules differ from venue to venue.

What a reusable event structure looks like

A reusable structure does not have to look temporary. It is built from durable materials, such as a steel frame, and designed to be assembled, taken down, transported and reconfigured many times.

The model is circular. The core structure stays the same and moves from event to event. The branding, interior finishes and lighting change for each client, so every activation still looks like its own.

How BLOXX Live works

BLOXX Live pavilions are made from modular steel units designed for repeat use. Each module is 2,500 x 5,000 mm with 2,400 mm internal head height. Modules can run side by side, stack up to three storeys, and take roof terraces, open staircases and glass balustrades.

A single module suits a compact hospitality space. Lock several together and you have a multi-level pavilion with a roof terrace. For smaller configurations, BLOXX can crane the pre-assembled unit into position on site with its HIAB.

When the event ends, the modules are collected, refurbished at the BLOXX facility and prepared for their next hire. The structure goes back into use instead of into a skip.

Who it suits

BLOXX Live is for brands and agencies that want visual impact without the waste of a one-off build:

  • VIP hospitality at sporting events and festivals.
  • Pop-up retail that can move from one location to the next.
  • Brand activations that need high-end finishes and quick set-up.
  • Exhibitions with multi-level stands that do not end in a skip.

How hire is priced

BLOXX Live is priced per square metre per month, from £450 + VAT per m², with reduced rates for longer hire and a minimum hire of one month. Send your event details and BLOXX will propose a configuration, a price and a timeline.
